The Project

Drawing up and implementation of a social media marketing strategy for the Bachelor programme “International Creative Business” (formerly known as International Media and Entertainment Management). The university offers this diverse programme, however there was no digital presence that could communicate to students or connect with them easily. The task was to draw up a 2-year social media marketing strategy and after approval to implement it. Alongside all digital efforts to increase the Bachelor programme’s visibility, a lot of offline efforts were connected as well: internal and external events like themed nights and open days at the campus. Internal masterclasses, workshops and presentations were organized in order to share best practices and how we achieved successfully our KPI’s.

Video production with promotional purposes and assigning vloggers to open their channels was indirectly connected to the assignment. The occasional participation in vlogs and promos also became part of the project.

The solution

Countless efforts in different areas summed up to a successful strategy implementation

For more than 2 years the team managed social media profiles on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube with no ad budget – only organic efforts and tons of marketing activities.

Internal themed events

Halloween night, watching the horror movie of the proffessor of Film and TV industry - Mark Weistra. Bringing international culture closer to the heart by inviting students to bring a traditional dish from their country. Roaming the campus halls in search of the winning tiny chocolate egg right before Easter. We started a tradition that followed and inspired others to bring the community closer together through such themed events.

Open Days and Evenings

We made these events even more fun and interesting than before. With in-person communication and small workshops that students led in order to show prospects what it is to be an ICB student, we raised interest drastically.

Student of the week rubric

A facebook rubric that was creted in order to put the faces behind the student community, outline their reason for choosing the programme.

Consistency in content and strategy

Developing a content schedule and calendar, incorporating UGC, photos and videos from events, photoshoots of staff, students, facilities etc.
