The only Bulgarian project that was selected for nomination for the Digital Communication Awards 2019 in Berlin. The SmartLady by Fibank Facebook page success, reaching 10,000 likes within only a year and with a budget of 50 euros per month.

Building a strong community for female entrepreneurs in Bulgaria

The SmartLady programme is a Fibank programme that helps female entrepreneurs by not only supporting them financially, but also by giving them a platform to share their experiences, build a strong professional community and help eachother.

Developing the programmes  Facebook page and building a strong community online and reaching more than 10,000 users that chose to follow the page was definitely a challenge. The content strategy evolved around celebrating other women’s success, as well as, providing a source of inspiration and courage to women who were yet to embark on their journey. The growth of the community was done mainly organically with a very little budget for advertising on the platform.

Events

Offline events were a key part in introducing Smart Lady customers to each other and provide them with the exclusive opportunity to meet other successful business women and share the journey together.

Giveaways

Social media giveaways were organised, supporting other Bulgarian businesses and cultural organisation in order to increase engagement rate and popularise the programme.

The platform developed further with a digital hub where customers could register and gain exclusive information about events, news and other business resources.

What was my role in the project?

While working at a PR agency, SmartLady by Fibank was one of my clients, for which I dealt with content creation and management on the platform, optimising their monthly ad budget and setting up campaigns, as well as, implementing social media giveaways and competitions. When the profile was nominated for the Digital Communication Awards 2019, I had the opportunity to present the strategy and efforts behind the results to the international jury in Berlin.
